Men and women are really not that different, are they?!

dsc00558I spent a month in Thailand after quitting a job I was about to get fired from.  To my surprise was one of the best things to ever happen to me. I got to travel to an amazing place for an entire month something that most people don’t get a chance to do unless they are retired, encompassed in a bus sized camper with a very small comfort zone. I ventured into Thailand with nothing but a backpack, my wallet and a comfort zone ready to be pushed! I hiked through a three mile long cave filled with bats and swift flowing water. I bought buckets of alcohol on the island of Puket while getting a back rub from a homeless man. I taught a group of new friends how to ride scooters without killing themselves and to top it off I met my first Lady Boy. Wow, I am a very nice guy and open to all different forms of lifestyle choices but this pushed my conservative christian upbringing into a nervous cold sweat. Many guys in a desperate need to affirm their male sexuality gulp down the desire to punch a person like this. I being less aggressive was a bit like a deer in the headlights. One particular lady boy, who was very feminine, (this helps?) found me every night and insisted on sitting on my lap. Now this might sound innocent but Honey (her name) didn’t have a lot of work done and still possessed a package downstairs. So… when Honey would sit on my reluctant lap in her tight dress a pair of huevos would press out the fabric of her tight dress up against my leg. In a concerned, confused and worried way I allowed this and justified it by imagining Honey had a very small penis, therefore making it somehow acceptable.

Have you ever heard of a condition called testicular feminization syndrome? It is a malfunction of the testosterone receptor in a developing fetus. Testosterone is made but it is not received by the receptor. So when the baby is born what comes out? Someone like honey? Possibly a confused man that keeps checking out other guy’s kabooses? or maybe just a feminine guy like myself? Here is the mind blowing answer. The baby is born in all appearances drives and equipment a woman!!  The only thing missing are sexual internal organs, “she” cannot have children. From what I understand all of these “men” end up leading the life of a woman and know one is the wiser. Take a second and think about the implications of this. All men, even your dad, are one tiny little testosterone receptor away from being a woman.

So often I have heard women complain about how frustrating men are, that a man’s behavior makes no sense. I have heard and felt myself that female behavior is often insanity! Over the years I have come to the conclusion that men and women are really not all that different. I believe the difference we do pick up is a split of masculine and feminine energy. (This is why that gay friend you have is so much fun to hang out with!) I have a bizarre mix of the two; you as well have a mix but are probably more on the feminine side. So to truly understand men, others and yourself you must understand that energy.  To make this point even more clear, gay couples have the same struggles you do! It is the energy they don’t understand not the sex of the partner.

BTW: this actually is me getting attacted by Honey in the picture
