Who is more responsible for Tigers Cheating?
I woke up a little late this morning and swore a nice big, “FUCK YOU” at the TV.
The Today Show was on, and “Guys Tell All” was on. The topic was “Why do men cheat.”
This is so freakin frustrating to see cheating in the lime light because of Tiger Woods. And to see the incredibly loaded question “Why to men cheat” on the TV screen!
Is this fair? Do men cheat more??? NO!! Of course not! Well… at least the gap is not all that significant. I have read a lot on the subject over the years. and a lot of people (This number seems dependent on whether or not study was done by a man or a women) have a LOT of different results. If I made my best guess at to the correct number I would say there is anywhere from a 5-15% difference in men cheating vs. women with the former being worse. Is that significant enough for this male stereotype to be hammered into the American mind?

If a man’s wife cheats he keeps it to himself
There are always exceptions, so don’t get all up in arms! but in general… men don’t like to air their dirty laundry, especially with cheating. A man, who’s wife is cheating, feels like less of a man and it usually crushes his ego more than it does a woman. Women tend to go to other women for emotional sustenance and as a byproduct men get BASHED. Men don’t do this! They don’t go to other men to explain why they were not good enough to keep their wives; Men pull it back into themselves in shame. Male self talk is more like, “What is so wrong with me, that she would break the sanctity of our relationship to get penetrated by another man??”
If a woman’s husband cheats she tells the world
I don’t know if this is a better way of dealing with the problem, but at least it keeps the female ego intact. However, it is fucking frustrating, since all the men have to pay! It so often feels like there is some sort of conspiracy by the Western woman to discredit the strength and character of Western men. Sure, men cheat but so do women and after all aren’t we really talking about people?? What if I said all Indians work at 7/11! This is a racist comment and I feel it is a very sexist comment to ask the question, “Why do men cheat?” It is almost as bad as a man saying, “Why are women such bitches?” I find both questions offensive and only one slightly true. (hehehe)
A little more to think about:
Tiger’s wife fucking knew! and she kept quiet, because she refused to trade money and fame, for a better relationship. She is a coward and a coward will find no end of people to test their cowardice.
Was Tiger in the right? YOU… have someone hand you a Kajillion dollars, tons and tons of attractive people willing to do you, right then there, and everywhere. Could you handle this?? Don’t assume you could, I think most of us would be doing blow off of some hot guy or girls ass before we “woke up” one day.
Does Tiger’s behavior reflect on men in General? No!! it reflects on the weakness of humans. Tiger will continue this behavior until the pain of his actions stops him. Now, we will see him mature. This is no different than you or I struggling with a McDonalds craving, seriously, the only difference is the severity.
What about all the women and men cheaters sleep with, if they were rolled into the cheating stats would it not be equal??? What you say? It is not the same?? The person fucking the married man or woman should not be held accountable for their actions??? The women Tiger slept with are not responsible as well? or are they just so trashy that they don’t count as women?
All this garbage is infuriating and it only increases the separation of the sexes, WHICH IS WRONG! This is a human problem! not a male problem.

It’s more than that. We’re a culture that faults the man in both situations. If a man cheats, it’s because he’s a prick. If a woman cheats, it’s because her man drove her to it.
It’s pretty damn biased.
And yeah, women cheat as often as, or even more so, than men do. That’s a fact.

Excellent, I really hope that the younger generation, learns from my generation, that man hating is actually doing them more damage then they could ever imagine.
I personally think your numbers are a bit off–because I think women cheat a little MORE if not equal to men. In my circle of friends….I know of at least 3 women in committed relationships (one which is engaged) that is participating in active affairs. Women are just BETTER at covering their tracks….WAY BETTER!

I like that a gay man is here to talk about women! There is a very unbiased party for you!
I don’t know if I agree that women cheat more since I have lived in male dominated societies where cheating is mainly a male sport.
Great point about women being able to hide it better. Women are such better liars than men because they are generally better communicators. Not to mention women will actually convince themselves of the lie, which men can’t detect.
Can’t tell you how often I have been on the other end. Girls using me and not telling me about the guy until later.
Nandoism is correct, the numbers we don’t quite know exactly about but in general women are better at it. Better at hiding they are cheating, lying, etc.
But one point Mike brought up is that if you put a label on one group, it is considered racism, like his examples about all Indians working at 7/11.
Well all men cheat, is just as much in the same category so why is it that it is looked upon differently?
My suggestions would be that the male population is starting to loose ground and women are taking over. Only a small percentage of males can be considered real men while the rest are just puppies.
I am sure Mike can add more to this when I say that when guys are nice guys to women, they can left behind and trampled on.

i’m not into blowing people. i don’t care how much money you have, how good looking you are. i just can’t…and i have offers and marriage proposals on the table. car undriven. there’s just no way i can do someone because they have money or they are cute.
it’s interesting though that a woman can cheat all day long and the ONLY one who might have an inkling is her MOTHER.

It is true, women are much better at cheating.
Honestly, I don’t know who is doing all the cheating and why, but the media does in fact portray men as cheaters. Can’t turn on the tv without hearing about Letterman, Tiger, Clinton, Jude Law, etc., there is always someone new. It’s nice that some men find this title offensive (like you), but to be honest, a lot of men carry this title very proudly.

I don’t think any man carries this title proudly. (Except to his friends, which is a guy I don’t respect)
I don’t know if women talk less than men. I can’t tell you how many guys have reached out to talk about their cheating wives and girlfriends and I’m only one person. The blogosphere is full of blogs written by men collecting evidence and trying to sort out their heads over a cheating spouse.
I think the real reason is that women compartmentalize better and are bound to get caught and/or confess to an infidelity less. I really do.

I feel you. The reasons men and women cheat on their spouse are actually pretty much the same for both sexes. No need to draw a line. It can be for adventure, lack of communication with their partner, lack of fun and excitement etc. Both men and women are vulnerable to these feelings and have to deal with them or choose to give in to them. The only reason I titled my article like this is because I write for women

naive people will disagree, but those who have some experience know women are selfish, materialistic and manipulative, and they rationalize (tell themselves “rational lies”) that they are above such low, reprehensible behaviour
